Two Weeks - Five Pounds!

All right so I said this wasn't going to be about weight, but rather how I feel.  Well I've been feeling really good, more energetic, more laid back, and motivated.  This morning I weighed my self though for the first time.  After two weeks I have lost 5 pounds!  (4.8 pounds to be exact but I'm going to give myself the few tenths of a pound.)  Also 2.5 of that weight lost was from this past week!  See I'm participating in a March Madness weight loss challenge over at a friends blog, Finding the Thin Within, and I must admit that I have been weighing myself before today.  I decided though that I am only going to record my weight every two weeks or so since there can be a lot of fluctuations in shorter amounts of time.  I'm still not focusing on the weight, but rather the lifestyle changes and feelings associated.

So as a treat for myself I made Strawberry Stuffed French Toast this morning for breakfast.  Now before you go thinking that I ruined my whole two weeks worth of work the french toast recipe came from the Alli Cookbook and has only 230 calories and 5 grams of fat.  I admit that I am a bit of a French Toast junkie, I love the stuff so to be able to make some that is reasonably good for me, and tastes great, is a really big deal for me!  My only complaint was that the recipe (I follow it to the T the first time I make something) never mentioned any syrup...my sweet tooth really wanted syrup.  Now that I know how many calories and fat are in a piece though depending on the content in the syrup I think that I can add a little.

Speaking of my sweet tooth...I really want chocolate!!!  Although I have found a few recipes that introduce chocolate, they just don't fill that void.  Anybody have any good low fat chocolate suggestions?  Walking through the grocery store and seeing all the Easter candy right now is killing me!  I did discover that Jelly Belly Jelly Beans are fat free though, so bring on the jelly beans!!!!  =)

In other news, I'm still not waking up in the mornings.  I'm beginning to call it the cure of a graduate student!  I just am not motivated in the morning to wake up.  Since I don't have anywhere to be, and no one to push me out of bed, I just can't seem to wake up consistently on a day to day basis.  I really want to change this since I know that in a few months since I am hoping to find a job I'm going to have to wake up consistently daily.  I will say though that I have gotten better about going to sleep.  I'm getting to bed anytime between 12:30 and 2, which is a lot better than the 4 or 5am bedtimes in the past.

Thanks for all the support from everyone, family, friends, and strangers, both here on the blog and on my Facebook page!  Five pounds down feels great!!!  =)
